About David Weeks
My name is David Weeks and I am a photographer. I specialize in capturing the moment in nature and having the image infused onto metal for home, office, hotel, and business decor, along with all other mediums.
I have been a photographer since 1992. I became a photographer by accident. While working in video production, I was trying to get hired by a company at Kennedy Space Center but I did not have enough photography experience. I quickly enrolled into a photography course at the local community college, which at the time, had one of the best photography departments in the State of Florida.
I purchased my first camera. The Canon AE 1. and later, two more. The Canon Eos and The Canon Rebel.
After completing the black and white course, The job did not pan out. However, I could not put the camera down. I continued learning more about photography and started taking it seriously.
I added photography along with my video, music, and audio production.
During the mid 90's, everything was shot on film and developed in a dark room. Photography started to become too expensive to maintain, so I focused on the video production aspect of my career.
In 2003, I got engaged and left the video production business to pursue a new career in real estate appraising. It just so happens that photography found me again!
As a real estate appraiser, you need a camera and the great news....it was a digital medium and I never looked back.
My first digital camera was a Fujifilm Finepix 3500 3mp. Some of those images are on this website.
I then purchased a Nikon D70 in December of 2004.
The name Metalprintdesigns.com comes from my favorite medium which is the metal print. The metal print is durable, long lasting, enriches the image, and enhances a room.
